" cannot help but conclude that by the only objective standard for law, individual rights, those who have voted for or introduced legislature like this are nothing short of traitors.Ryan O.noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5200276.post-63288927494048193512009-11-13T15:41:40.260-05:002009-11-13T15:41:40.260-05:00Teresa: No, the practice has not ceased, however, ...Teresa: No, the practice has not ceased, however, when the oath is taken, the words go in one ear and out the other.

Also, regarding the clause, "without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion," that is now spoken with the oath-taker's fingers crossed behind his back, or crossed unseen on the Bible. After all, why can't a politician change his mind -- or lie?

Frankly, and seriously, I think every member of Congress who has voted for or will vote for the health care, cap-and-trade, and other compulsory legislation, regardless of its form or version, should be voted out of office next year, and then charged with treason, with no retroactive indemnification allowed to permit them to get off scot-free. Send that message to your congress critters and see them shake. They all know there's trouble brewing "out here" in the real world, and that idea would certainly get their attention.

EdAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5200276.post-63939517877346309792009-11-13T14:40:35.518-05:002009-11-13T14:40:35.518-05:00Has this practice ceased?
