I just wanted to underscore the differences between Gaza and what's just a 1 minute drive away from me. But the party line is that the Palestinians are not hostages to Hamas (and Iran and Hezbollah), but oppressed by Israel (and by implication, by the U.S., even though we've sent billions in aid to that toilet over decades), that Gaza is some kind of "state" that is under siege by the Israelis, and that all of Israel is "occupied." Until that party line is exploded, Israel is always going to be the bad guy. Obama, however, is the first American president to not waffle on his support of Israel. He's proven that in all his actions concerning Israel. The public donation of $400 million of our tax money proves his hatred for Israel.<br /><br />EdAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5200276.post-81442719036222891162010-06-11T14:41:59.172-04:002010-06-11T14:41:59.172-04:00"You can bet Hamas isn't going to distrib..."You can bet Hamas isn't going to distribute that money to the "Palestinians" so they can go on a shopping spree at WalMart or Lowe's."<br /><br />I know Anon.'s comment here was tongue in cheek, nevertheless, it gives me pause. As Anon., and you and I all know, there are no equivalents to Lowes and Walmart in Gaza, because there is no market, and the people there are kept in total subjugation to their Hamas masters. And people who are so dependent on only foreign aid that is distributed as their masters see fit, are not grateful to those who gave the foreign aid, but only demand more. THAT is the true tragedy of Gaza, and Israel has nothing to do with it.Elisheva Hannah Levinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16061377724926154037noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5200276.post-38101249905747461212010-06-10T22:25:44.802-04:002010-06-10T22:25:44.802-04:00Obama just pledged $400 million to give to Gaza --...Obama just pledged $400 million to give to Gaza -- that is, to Hamas. You can bet Hamas isn't going to distribute that money to the "Palestinians" so they can go on a shopping spree at WalMart or Lowe's. It's going to be spent entrenching Hamas and buying weapons. That's as heinous an act as snubbing Israel and condemning the Gaza flotilla raid. Both Obama and the script need to be "flipped." This man is out to destroy any and all values he can.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5200276.post-51722490055398902942010-06-10T20:21:26.421-04:002010-06-10T20:21:26.421-04:00That our government sees fit to send our money to ...That our government sees fit to send our money to Hamas should belogically regarded by Israel as an act of war. We need to "flip the script" on this whole anti-war thing, and force our government to stop war-"profiteering" for diplomatic points with Hamas, the Arab states and the U.N.Bruce V.
