And this dead-end nihilist culture finds the collar a nice fashion accessory.

As always, I find wit & wisdom in your writings Ed. - djrAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5200276.post-1870498994889599642007-02-21T01:56:00.000-05:002007-02-21T01:56:00.000-05:00We are now at the stage when the Wesley Mouches an...We are now at the stage when the Wesley Mouches and the Eugene Lawsons are in charge of the government. We are in the advanced stage of nanny statism. Unless challenged, the nanny state will become the fledging totalitarian state.

When Directive 10-289, or rather the Global Warming restrictions are passed, watch for the Cuffy Meigs to start popping up and the descent into totalitarianism and utter lawlessness.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5200276.post-22633984356085589762007-02-20T23:11:00.000-05:002007-02-20T23:11:00.000-05:00Thank you for so eloquently giving voice to my ang...Thank you for so eloquently giving voice to my anger, the anger I feel over the senseless smallness of the government's gray ooze of regulations that slop over our lives. From regulating cigarettes to putting warning labels on... everything, to telling us what we can eat, we are dying small deaths every day. I am flabbergasted that the American colonists rebelled over something as small as a stamp tax. I can only imagine how they would feel at the countless ways we are being suffocated today.

As for our technological march forward, it is real and the result of the tremendous economic power of capitalism, even when it is throttled, curtailed and controlled. It is a marvel to see what semi-capitalism brings us. It is science fiction to imagine how it could be.Galileo Blogshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02592692929747610846noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5200276.post-71559236164730503392007-02-20T21:10:00.000-05:002007-02-20T21:10:00.000-05:00I remember when I read Atlas Shrugged; I thought t...I remember when I read Atlas Shrugged; I thought that the controls and regulations described in the book were "over the top" and "not realistic". In the 49 years since I first read Atlas Shrugged, I have said over and over again, what you are saying here -- that dictatorship in the U. S. will come in small doses. And, of course, I hear the voices of the Tracinski's of the world saying, "We're not dead yet," as they rush headless over the edge of the cliff. The image in my mind is that the lemmings of the world are swallowing the worms, hook, line, and sinker.Thomas Rowlandhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02936086526966725798noreply@blogger.com
